Educational Consultant III

Mengyu consults with faculty, primarily in the Division of Social Sciences, on evidence-based, pedagogically grounded teaching practices; supports the design and implementation of innovative, student-centered learning activities; and leads teaching development programs and events to advance the DKU teaching and learning community. She also coordinates CTL operations, such as resource documentation, data analysis, and outreach.

She leads CTL’s Small Group Instructional Feedback (SGIF) program, the annual Teaching and Learning Showcase, formative class observation with faculty peers, Jump-Start grants, and the TA training program. Mengyu also serves as the chief editor of the DKU Faculty Teaching Stories books and manages the CTL website.

Background

Mengyu got her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Colorado Denver, with minors in Mathematics and Communications. Her experience as a peer mentor for freshmen and a math tutor fueled her passion for education. She later obtained a Master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, where she also worked as an ESL instructor in the Community Language Program for a year. After interning twice at the CTL, she joined the team as a full-time staff member in 2020.
