Senior Learning Experience Designer

Mengyu is dedicated to advancing DKU faculty’s excellence in enriching student learning experiences. She leads CTL’s Small Group Instructional Feedback (SGIF) program, the annual Teaching and Learning Showcase, learning space design, Jump-Start grants, and the TA training program. She provides faculty consultations on flipped classrooms, hybrid/online course design, and facilitates workshops on active learning, student engagement with technology, and effective Canvas use. Mengyu also serves as the chief editor of the DKU Faculty Teaching Stories books and manages the CTL website.

Background

Mengyu got her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver, with minors in Mathematics and Communication. Her experience as a peer mentor for freshmen and a math tutor fueled her passion for education. She later obtained a Master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, where she also worked as an ESL instructor in the Community Language Program for a year. After interning twice at the CTL, she joined the team as a full-time staff member in 2020.
