Background
Yapei’s educational journey reflects a deep commitment to understanding both social phenomena and educational processes. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Franklin and Marshall College, where his coursework in sociological theory, research methods, and the sociology of education laid the foundation for his analytical approach to education. This was followed by a Master of Arts in Sociology and Education from Columbia University, where he specialized in qualitative research methodologies and quantitative data analysis.
His academic training was complemented by hands-on experience during his 2021 internship at DKU’s Center for Teaching and Learning, where he conducted faculty interviews, produced educational contents, and coordinated professional development initiatives. His subsequent career in international business development honed his cross-cultural communication skills and project management capabilities, experiences that now inform his approach to supporting DKU’s diverse, international faculty community in creating inclusive and effective learning environments.
