We improve students’ learning by helping instructors advance their teaching.

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) /昆山杜克大学教师教学发展中心 is an academic office that brings innovative, evidence-based teaching practices and learning opportunities to all Duke Kunshan’s faculty.

Mission: Promote Duke Kunshan faculty's teaching excellence

We support all faculty as they challenge students to shape individual pathways and deepen their intellectual engagement over time, become rooted global citizens who make a difference both in professional and civic life.

We foster communications, innovations and interdisciplinary collaborations among faculty, teaching staff and teaching assistants.

We uphold openness — both in sharing what we know and what we do, and in helping faculty share their knowledge, teaching practices and passion with others.

What we do

We consult on, provide training about, and support faculty in advancing their knowledge and skills in Pedagogy, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), and Educational Technology via various programs and opportunities.

The team

The CTL has evolved to a team with five full-time staff, one intern, and five undergraduate student partners. They are from various academic and teaching/learning backgrounds, dedicated to supporting and growing with all faculty.
