Reminders
- The Canvas course sites for Spring will be created automatically by the system. You should be able to see all your Spring course sites under “Unpublished” on your Canvas Dashboard.
- All your Sakai sites will be accessible until June 2025 but in a “read-only” mode starting in Summer 2024. See the timeline here.
Explore Canvas
- All DKU full-time faculty, visiting faculty, and teaching staff are given a Sandbox Canvas Site to explore Canvas and practice. Only you can access and view the sandbox site unless you add people to the site. If you do not see your sandbox site, please contact CTL at dku_ctl@dukekunshan.edu.cn.
- Instructors now can request to have content from up to five Sakai sites migrated to Canvas at a time. Once you have submitted your request, the content on this page provides guidance for what you will need to do to ensure your Canvas sites containing migrated content are correctly set up.
- CTL workshop recordings:
- Session 1: Canvas Overview and Course Site Design
- Session 2: Canvas Assessments
- Frequently asked questions by DKU faculty and quick answers
- How-To Videos – A condensed version of Duke’s workshops; get the basics in under two hours.
- Growing with Canvas – A self-paced course in Canvas created by Instructure to walk you through the platform.
One-on-one meetings
If you have specific questions or want to talk to CTL members in an one-on-one consultation meeting, please make an appointment with us by emailing dku_ctl@dukekunshan.edu.cn
Project Sites/Collaboration Sites (not linked to DKU/Duke Hub)
DKU users are able to use Canvas collaboration sites. You have to submit a request to Duke for a blank collaboration site or a Sakai project site migrated to a Canvas collaboration site via this Collaboration Site Request Form. All requests will be evaluated by Duke and all approved collaboration sites will be created by Duke. Find more details and resources on this webpage.
